Walking up to Wat Pha Lat

Birds were singing their amazing songs in the distance, I could feel the leaves crunching under my feet and as I took a step I got deeper into the wilderness.

We were climbing up a lush, green path, that was fulled with different creatures everywhere we looked and our destination was Wat Pha Lat. Wat Pha Lat is one of the most beautiful temples in Chaing Mai, unlike many other temples we have visited, it costs nothing to come in and has no food stalls dotted around which makes it a peaceful place to come and visit.

It took around half an hour to climb up and took fifteen minutes to get back down, the temple was quite popular which was strange because it was meant to be popular because of its quietnesses!

This temple is a meditation stop for monks, so when we are up there we are told to be silent and respectful. Lots of the tourists there obviously didn't see the signs or they just didn't know how to be quiet! We saw lots of monk that were climbing down the trail when we were on our way up but we didn't actually see any up at the temple.

It was amazing there though, a waterfall ran right through the middle of it and there were many Buddha statues or guardians dotted around the place that people were taking photos of or posing with. There were many different little temples around the place too, which was another difference to the other wats that we have been too.

After we had had a good look around we found a nice spot to sit and ate some snacks, we had dried mango, nuts, bananas and savourys. We then split up for a bit, going off in different directions with someone else and just doing our own thing, me and mila seemed to be walking around together, talking about all the amazing things that we could see.

Sadly though, we couldn't stay here forever no matter how beautiful it was, we made sure that everyone was there and headed down the mountain. We had had such a cool time here and I am sure that it is my favourite Wat that we have been to so far!
