Dad and I went on the ladder of Kotor. The ladder of Kotor is a mountain with a narrow path that zig zags up to the top of the mountain.
the path was zig zagged because it would be too steep if it was straight up the mountain. The mountain is called the ladder of Kotor because it's steep like a ladder.
We decided to wake up early before the sun had risen to beat the heat.
At the start of our hike we passed a donkey and went over a bridge. strangely the bridge had no water flowing underneath. Dad said the hydroelectric plant was slerping the up all the water. While we were climbing up the mountain we saw small white butterflies and bees collecting nectar from the flowers.
After hard work we reached the sunlight. We had a magnificent view but we weren't at the top yet.
Before we continued we ate a banana to keep us going . We laboured up to the top and it was an even better view than the first one. We could see mountains, the old town of Kotor and its castle walls and a humongous cruise ship arriving on the blue sparkling sea. Huge colourful dragonfly's flew all around us making it feel magical.
We decided to not go to the very tippy top of the mountain as the sun was now up and it was very hot. So we headed down.
On the way we spotted many bright green geckos, one that was very big, and also a fat long snake in the bushes right by the track.
I only saw a bit of the snake. I had never seen a snake that big before in the wild
We were nearly down the hill now but before that we stopped for a drink of homemade lemonade from a store on the steep mountain. Yum!
We kept on walking down for a little longer until we came back to the bridge and the donkey.
We were at the end of the walk, and our house was straight across the road.
That was incredible and I hope I go again!!!!

Truly beautiful Haze. What a fantastic description. I'm sure you covered every bit of the excursion. Good job you and Dad. It sure looks steep but what magnificent views. I imagine you were ready for that lemonade. Love Nana and Granddad.
Wow Hazel what a hike!! It sounds incredible. I like the sound of the views and the geckos, not so sure about the snake though 🙈 xx
