Rila Monastery is a beautiful church in Bulgaria. It was built 1123 years ago in the 900s. The Monastery was raided and destroyed by the Ottomans. Fortunately, it was rebuilt.  It is built in the mountains.

The Rila Monastery was very pretty. It was a vast  cobblestone area with the church in the middle. Surrounding the church were towering walls where the nuns and priests working at the church lived. Also, you can stay the night there so there would be places for you to sleep.

Inside the church were stunning mural’s. It was an amazingly beautiful place. I would've loved to stay the night there, it would've been awsome!

My goodness Mila, those are incredible photos. Must be near Rila lakes??? The architecture is amazing and I would imagine the photos don't do it justice. So much history. Loving your updates.

Great you are up in the mountains - wouldn't like to be further south with the huge high temperatures. You all look fit and well and enjoying yourselves. All our love XXXX
