Plovdiv - Bulgaria’s cultural capital

Plovdiv is a beautiful city surrounded by hills in the centre of Bulgaria. It is Europes oldest continuously habiter city.


We only had two days to explore this beautiful city. We were lucky to watch a orchestra and jazz singer's rehearsal one evening in the ancient theatre (Plovdiv's Roman amphitheatre).


The creative centre, Kapana, is a pedestrianised area with cafes, shops and heaps of street art.


The Ottaman styled housing in the old town with cobblestone streets was beautiful as well.


The heat was intense during our time in Plivdiv so we were grateful for the many drinking fountains and water features to cool off in!
