One of our highlights in Rome was a guided walking tour.
We started by meeting our guide at Porta Del Popolo - the gate with three arches. We were told by our guide that arches such as these were built to celebrate military victories. The arches lead to a square called Piazza Del Popolo.
We also stopped at Piazza Navona. This piazza is rectangular shaped because it was once used for chariot racing which was the most popular sport during the Roman Empire.
Other stops were the Spanish steps snd the Trevi fountains. Throwing a coin in the Trevi fountains means you will return to them again so it looks like Hazel will be back to Rome some point in her lifetime.
A couple of gelato stops kept the kids going on our three hour tour!

Roma looks so nice. I love the architecture and those flowers are stunning. Oh my goodness, what can I say about the gelato?
