We attached the go pro to the side of the car for the great ride ahead. The tuk tuk was squeezy so I had to sit on mums lap. As everyone else got piled in the tuk tuk got tighter and tighter. But it was ok, we were used to it. The tuk tuk drove on and on over the winding hills. We passed huge trees, turquoise lakes and mountains lined with tea plantations. Soon enough we parked in car park and I saw a huge bridge. And that's when I realised it wasn't A bridge at all, it was a damn.
Walking across Kundala damn was scary. I leaned down to take a look at the water rushing below. It was so steep that I basically felt gross. Once we finished walking across the damn, Dad said to me the part I was standing on was a gate and it would open up and let in more water than it needed to explode out into the lake. It made me shiver and almost vomit.
We explored the area for a while and soon we made a decision. We were going to go paddle boating on the lake. We could have gone on a tube that floats in the water and floats around but we were all too scared to. Once we got our life jackets on we all bundled into the boat. Mum and Dad pedalled and I steered and Ruby and Hazel went into the back. I steered everyone in a full circle. I wasn't the best at it but I did OK with a little help. Once we got back we took off our life jackets and walked into the looming tress.
After that we wanted to go back into the tuk tuk so we did until we got distracted. We found a stall that found a game - shoot the balloons with a pistol. We all had a go and I was the only one who figured out how to hit the balloons. You had to line up both of the circles on the balloon. Then you would shoot and voila! I popped nearly half of the balloons!
The next place we went to was called Echo lake named because it actually echoes. It was like being in a cave. It was loud. There was lots of people yelling, trying to see if the lake would actually echo.
Soon enough, we went back into the tuk tuk. We drove through the forest once more until we emerged into the tea plantations. We arrived to yet another damn. This time it was called Muttupetty damn. This time it was around lunchtime so we got a snack to make us last until later. We got these things called spiral potatoes which was literally a potato on a stick in the shape of a spiral.
We licked our fingers and hopped back in the tuk tuk. We drove back to the Munnar town to a restaurant. We went in and it was bustling with people. We found a seat and sat down. The waiter came over and we told him what we wanted. I got a dosa which is like a pancake made from rice flour but bigger. Hazel and Mum got Thali which is a mix of curries and sauces. Dad and Ruby got Paratha with curry. Paratha is a thicker type of bread. Once we finished we hopped back into the tuk tuk to drive home.
That tuk tuk tour was the best tuk tuk tour ever!
