Lastours Castles, France by Mila

In the south of France there is a little town called Lastours. Up on a hill in that town there are four castles, each as pretty as the next. The names of those castles are: Cabaret, the biggest one, Tour Régine, Quertinheux and Surdespine. The area was owned by the wealthy cabaret family and ruined by the crusaders.

On the way we walked up three hundred and fifty steps, strode through a small cave and saw a ruined church.

The mountain we climbed reminded me a bit of Greece, and Greece had been my favorite place so far. It was pretty, and made me wish that there were Medieval ruins in New Zealand.

The castles look incredible Mila. I can see why you were so impressed. People haven't been in Aotearoa very long so we have nothing that old do we? How wonderful that you have seen these things.

Now I look the ‘unknown’ one isn’t there anyway!!! what I wanted to say was how lovely that area of France looks, and I think it would have been worth all those steps for those beautiful views. 😀
