After an amazing time in Ayutthaya we were ready to get to Chiang mai, which was where we would be staying for the next week! To get there we were going to be spending the night on a train that would take us there. We left our accommodation at 7:15 and headed to the station, it was a short walk as it is very close to where we were staying. Our train was leaving at 7:45 but we wanted to make sure that we would be there on time which is why we gave our selfs half an hour to get there and make sure that we were ready.
When the train pulled up at the station we were told were to go according to the caridge type we were in, we were in number 9 which is quite close to the back. When we waked onto the train we first found our beds and put and bags underneath them. Each bed had a curtain for privacy and was a bunk bed, adults are meant to sleep on the top bunks and children and meant to be sleeping on the bottom bunks. The bottom bunks have a little table and can me changed into seats when you need to. When we got on the train the bottom bunk had already be changed to the workers into the bed.
Me, Mila and Hazel spent the first part of the ride watching a movie and then we were talking for a long time, the bottom bunks have big windows that cover the entire wall and i loved looking out them and seeing how different Thailand was compared to New Zealand!
Sadly though, at some point we did have to g to sleep, it didn't take me long to drift of and even though i woke up many times in the night it was still a pretty good sleep for a train. It the morning we had to get out of our beds straight away because the workers wer going to change our beds back into seats again. It was super cold thanks to the air conditioning and when the man who was helping us changed our beds, he took our blankets away!
Luckily it wasn't going to be to long before it was time to get off, and sure enough we soon had to put our bags on our backs and get out of the train, here we where in Chiang mai I can't wait to see what adventures come our way!

I am loving reading your descriptive posts about the trip!
That’s really cool can’t wait to hear about your next adventure
The bunks would have been like fun little cubby's, no wonder you girls stayed up late talking.
I used to catch the train from Hamilton to Wellington to stay with Grandma and Grandad when your dad was little but had to sleep in my seat. I sure would have liked one of your bunk beds!
I look forward to Chang Mai adventures
I loved hearing about the overnight train Hazel, what an adventure! Glad you got a bit of sleep. Roll on the next adventures! Mrs Cooper
That would have been fun - did you have breakfast on the train too? 🍌
