In India there is a festival called Holi festival. Before the festival starts we light a fire with sticker leaves and cow dung. The next day we put on our old clothes that we didn't need anymore and started to walk. On the way we bought two bags of coloured powder. One was blue and one was pink. When we got there, l'os of people were throwing the powder at each other. We each took a handful and started throwing at each other!

There was a big stage where people were singing songs. There were confetti guns that sprayed confetti in the air. There was a fill up station where you could fill up your bag with more powder and all colours for free.

Dad gave all of us a turn to have a shoulder ride except mum of course. Mum though Dad was going to break his back when it was Ruby's turn. It was nearly time to go. Before we go we watched a cool dance that mum insisted we should stay and watch. The dance was belly dancing (it is called belly dancing because they mainly use their belly in the dance moves.). The ladies were dancing, twirling and spinning with beautiful dresses and huge colourful hats.

After the dance, we went home. We were exhausted! Me and Mila had a head ache. It was so much fun except for washing off the powder because it took ages!

It is so great that you got to experience Holi! I lived in India in the early 80s! Many memories!
