Yesterday we went to the Beatles museum in LiverPool. The museum told us the story of the Beatles, how they got together, when they broke apart and how they rose to fame.
The four members of the Beatles are called Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. Ringo Starr was the band's drummer, but he hadn’t always been. Before him they had a drummer called Pete Best, but they decided he wasn't good enough and replaced him with Ringo.
The band had started with the name ‘The QuarryMen’. Members left and joined but John Lennon stayed with the band throughout the whole process. The band's name changed from the QuarryMen to the SilverBeatles and then to the Beatles.
The QuarryMen had been put together in 1957 by John with Pete Shotton. Then, three years later, in 1960, the name was changed to the Beatles. At this point Pete Shotton had left the band as well as other members such as Ken Brown and Tommy Moore. The current Beatles were Ringo, Paul, John and Pete Best.
Pete Best stayed as their drummer for another two years until he got sick for a performance. They asked Ringo Starr to fill in for him and later, Ringo got asked to replace Pete Best permanently.
Then all the four Beatles stayed together, Paul, Ringo, John, and George. The Beatles performed all around the world in places like, the United States, Canada, England, France, Italy, Japan, Hong Kong, Sweden and even New Zealand!
We learned all about the Beatles story in the museum by listening to an audio guide which had different parts for each subject. I had a really good time and I enjoyed learning about the Beatles.
