A Swiss Chocolarium

On our way to Germany we stopped halfway to go to a chocolate factory to learn how to make Swiss chocolate. The name of the chocolate is Munz and Minor.

The entrance was filled with golden chains and golden bells. To go up to the chocolate factory you went up a golden spiral staircase. Upon the second layer of the factory there was a chocolate shop and samples. We went to the ticket counter to get our tickets. We passed a gate to go into the cinema. The movie showed us how to make chocolate starting from the caocao tree. The Maestrani family who started making Munz and Minor, said there was three ingredients needed to make chocolate. Love, happiness and creativity.

After the cinema we went into a mini chocolate museum. There were containers to smell the caocao beans. Some smelt bitter and some smelt sweet. it was bright with splodges of red and white everywhere. There were dials to turn and spin and even a milking station.

At the chocolatarium we got to taste test all of the creamy chocolate. First we went to a room with four mini chocolate fountains. The flavours were dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate and caramel chocolate. We had to use a spoon to let the chocolate pour into. The next chocolate taster was in a long hallway above the factory. There were long tubes filled with wrapped chocolate and you could have as many as you wanted! The different falavours were mint, nut, milk, dark, white and more.

We went into the last room where we got to make our very own chocolate bar. First a lady poured chocolate into a moul. Second we went to a table with toppings that you could put on. I put lots of gummy bears on my and mums chocolate bar. Third we put out chocolate into a machine to harden it. Last we wrapped our chocolate and added the golden Maestrani sticker. After that we went down another hallway which led us to the entrance and even more samples.

I had the best day of my life and I hope I can go again.
