While we were in Daisendorf, Germany, we went on a two day biking trip. Daisendorf is a small village close to a beautiful town called Meersburg. These two towns are both on the very edge of Lake Kontanz. We had to bike through the stunning town to get to the bike path by the road. Lots of people were using it because biking is very popular in Germany.

I played a fun game were I had to go so fast that I zipped right past the cars on the road, though most of the time I failed. It was still fun trying it though!

We found a wonderful beer garden, and we decided to go to it. They had a big garden, which was like a trail. It was also on the shore of Lake Kontanz. Mum and Dad gave me and Hazel our sandwiches and we went down to explore. Ruby stayed at the top with Mum and Dad, who had beer.

Once we finished we continued to bike towards our destination. As we biked we saw beatiful views of the lake. Finally we got there. On the way we passed a beautiful church, which was out in the countryside with a big vineyard around it.

There was also a stop that had a pavement that twisted around patches of grass. We really wanted to bike on it, but Mum and Dad said we weren't allowed in this area.

Once we finished that stop we biked to a wooden playground, which had treehouses on it.

The town that we ended up at was called Uberlingen. We strode around there for a while, got ice-cream, saw big animal boats and people playing violins.

Then when we went back. We had to bike up a big hill! It was tiring, so we had to get off our bikes and wheel them, but eventually we got there, and got some rest for the next big day ahead of us! Again!

The next day we biked to a town called Friedrichshafen. In that town was a cool metal statue of crazy creatures, and more beer gardens, but the main thing that was there was the zeppelin museum!

A zeppelin is a big flying machine that people used when planes were not invented. In the museum we got a suitcase, which we filled with papers that told you facts about zeppelins. The museum had an exhibition that let us go inside of what the zeppelin looks like.

Another showed us all about the different zeppelins, or flying machines that people had invented before planes. It went from the oldest ones to the newest ones.

The last exhibition explained how the zeppelin moved. The zeppelin passengers only used a small amount of the actual zeppelin. Zeppelins used to use hydrogen to fill the bags inside the zeppelin, but now we use helium so it wouldn’t explode like how the Hindenburg did.

I really enjoyed the bike riding, but it made me tired at the end. It was definitely worth it though!

What a lovely bike ride Mila. I’m not surprised you were tired at the end of it though!! I didn’t know there was a museum to zeppelins- fascinating.
