We arrived in Fort Cochin 2 days late due to a problem with our Indian visas (we didn't have any!). We still had 2 days to enjoy Fort Cochin. We had been looking forward to trying some South Indian food especially Mila who had heard all about the gluten free goodies she would be able to try. Some of the firm favourites were Iddly, Uppams and Dosa. Most of the food was vegetarian and it was delicious and fresh.
Highlights of our time there were:
-Crazy tuktuk rides
-a temple festival and a kathakali performance
-markets where one particular vendor got our attention by meaowing like a cat
-Viewing the Chinese fishing nets
-the ice cream trucks to cool us down on very hot days
We spent an agonising amount of time organising a SIM card and trying to find an ATM that worked!
Overall it was a good start to our time in INDIA!

So much warmer in southern india then. Despite a few hiccups looks like an interesting time. Heaps of great photos and heaps of great experiences. So different to our way of life. Nana and Granddad.
